    I agree with Eric ... essentially useless. Big healthcare wins again. Patients are the ones who lose as we continue to slowly kill continuity of care.

    if PAMED is serious about protecting private practice , theyll make the exception to allow private practices to use restrictive covenants a priority.

    The Senate final version going to the Governor's office is basically worthless and removed all the portions of the House bill that had value.  Yes, it is a first step, but in reality, it provides no protection for physicians or patients.  Any restrictive covenant can be in place for up to a year, meaning that the physician would need to leave the area or not practice for a full year.  In addition, the employer can pursue the physician for any expenses they incur as a result of them leaving.  The politicians will be quick to take accolades for helping physicians and patients, but they really have done almost nothing.
