Independent Practice Physicians Section (IPPS)

IPPS

Welcome 👋

Have you heard the incredible news? A resolution to create a section focused on the needs of physicians in independent practice was passed at the 2023 House of Delegates (HOD) meeting.

For now, the group will be called the Independent Practice Physicians Caucus/Section (IPPCS) as a bylaws amendment will need to occur during the 2024 HOD to create the section.

The creation of the IPPCS is an effort to change the course of medical practice, and create a win-win proposition for independently practicing physicians and potentially offer alternative practice options for newly graduated physicians as well as hospital system employed physicians in PA. The objectives of this new Caucus are:

  1. For patients - giving more control and choice of their own health care.
  2. For employed physicians - giving more negotiating power with hospitals or corporate entities.
  3. For independent physicians - giving a support system to unite and work together to ensure that the independent practitioner thrives.

We would love to have you be an active participant in this process of creating the IPPCS, based on building relationships, collaborating with each other, and retaking our rightful place as true leaders in healthcare in PA.

We would be honored to have you join this innovative and important effort.
