If the data entered doesn't match the information on file with the Department of State, your license renewal will be stalled.

3-HOUR NON-CME COURSE FOR INITIAL LICENSE APPLICANTS
The three-hour child abuse reporting course is for initial licensees and does not offer CME credit. Physicians holding existing Pennsylvania licenses will only receive credit for two hours of training at renewal, regardless of whether a physician chose to complete a three-hour course. You will not see this in your catalog

You must submit your license application to the Department of State before completing this course. If you are a physician who does
not have a U.S. social security number, you must also complete the required SSN Waiver form and email a completed
copy to CMEadmin@pamedsoc.org. Your record cannot be processed without an accompanying waiver form.
Cost
The courses are free and only available for PAMED members.
Objectives - At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review Pennsylvania's child welfare system structure and differentiate between child protective services and general protective services.
- Outline key changes in Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law that apply to physicians as mandated reporters, including the expanded legal definition of child abuse and new reporting obligations.
- Describe the roles, rights and responsibilities of physicians and applicable office staff as mandated reporters of suspected child abuse.
- Assess potential signs and symptoms of child abuse and other indicators that would require a report of suspected child abuse.
- Utilize prescribed reporting channels and processes to report suspected child abuse via telephone or the Internet.
